Are radio transmission masts now being deployed in Weiden and surroundings?

No radio transmission masts will be deployed, but local campus networks based on small cells will be used. These have a lower transmission power and cover a small supply range, similar to a Wi-Fi hotspot, but with connection to the general mobile network.

What are Small Cells?

Small Cells are stationary transmitters with low transmission power and a small supply range. They are used in places with high user density, such as inner cities, airports or event centres. In our project, small cells are used in the living labs.
