In order to be able to expand cutting-edge research in environmentally sound energy technology at Tech. Univ. of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden, the new research building "Technikum für Kraft-Wärme-Kopplung" (Technical Centre for Combined Heat and Power) was built on the campus in Amberg. The Center of Excellence for Cogeneration Technologies (CeCoGen) - an interdisciplinary research network of professors and partners from industry and science - conducts research here on the following fields of action:
- Increasing energy efficiency
- Use of biogenic energy sources for combined heat and power processes
- demand-oriented and flexible integration of combined heat and power plants into energy systems
- Research and development of new innovative combined heat and power concepts
Finding the laboratory
The Technical Centre for Combined Heat and Power is located in its own building right next to the university library.
