Here you will find a few downloads to help you get started with your studies.

Please note that once you have arrived in Germany or started your studies, you must also officially register in Germany and complete other important steps:
You can find further important information on this here:

Please understand that we cannot accompany you personally when dealing with the authorities. However, we will be happy to give you advice if possible.

Please note that the service fee does not include direct support in finding accommodation.
Unlike in some other countries, in Germany you do not automatically receive accommodation when you enrol. Depending on the university location and your financial means, finding accommodation is not always easy. You should start your search as early as possible - preferably before you arrive in Germany. Unfortunately, according to the Studentenwerk Oberfranken, there is currently a waiting period of one to two semesters for a place in student accommodation. Please bear this in mind when looking for accommodation and make sure you are put on the waiting list when you apply.

Housing Video

OTH Amberg-Weiden does not have its own halls of residence and therefore cannot provide flats for international students.
We can only provide you with tips or links when searching for accommodation on the private housing market. Please take care of your own research and application for a place in a hall of residence with various providers.

We, the International Office, would like to continue trying to give you tips for Amberg and Weiden in the future in order to open up further possibilities for you. Please note, however, that we are not able to find you accommodation or assist you personally in your search.

A little tip:
Why not look a little further afield from Amberg or Weiden? Public transport is often so well developed here that a place to live a little further away can also be a good and affordable alternative.

And another thing - so-called shared flats or WGs for short are also common in Germany - such offers may also be of interest to you. In a shared flat, several people live together in one flat. Each person has their own room, but they all share a kitchen, bathroom and sometimes a living room, and sometimes also the costs for a telephone and internet connection. This form of accommodation is very popular with many students. The advantage of living with others is that you can socialise quickly and practise your language skills. You can also look for a larger flat and other flatmates via the marketplace.
