You receive Office 365 directly from Microsoft via the "Office 365 Portal". The necessary account with Microsoft is created via the StudiSoft portal of the University of Würzburg.
NOTE: The HS-ACCOUNT mentioned in the process is NOT the mail address but <username>@oth-aw.de.
Included in the package are the following Microsoft applications
- Word
- PowerPoint
- Excel
- Outlook
- OneNote
- Publisher
- Access
Features
- Office desktop version installed locally and usable offline
- 5 installations per user on PC and Mac
- Version upgrades included
The usage is bound to the respective status of the student / staff member. Authorisations are generated directly from the user account. The transfer of personal data must be explicitly agreed to prior to transfer. Activation must be renewed regularly and ends with exmatriculation or leaving the university.

With Office 356 account <username>@oth-aw.de, after successful set-up via Studisoft:
NOTE: Your account will be activated in the StudiSoft portal in approx. 15 minutes after ordering. Please wait that long to log in to the Office365 portal! As soon as the account is available, you will receive the following e-mail:
After the period or when you have received the E-mail listed above, you can log in to the Office 365 portal (https://portal.office.com) using the data from the email. In addition, you will also find the initial login data in your order tracking in StudiSoft under your existing Office365 order. The password for the initial login is the Office365 order number from the StudiSoft portal.
(HSACCOUNT = four digit user id)
After logging in, you must now change your password. Enter your order number again at "Old password".
Now you will be automatically redirected to the page where you can download Office. Please select the following option in the interface.
Now the installer for your PC will be downloaded. Save it or run it directly.
Please go to the top of your account icon and select "My Account
Note: When installing the software on a MAC, it may happen that you are asked for a KEY during the installation (example see figure - MAC 2011 installation). In this case, you must select "Sign in with an existing Office 365 subscription". You will then need to use the following credentials:
Password: the password you have assigned. See "Step 2 - Change password"
Note: When installing the software on Windows, you may be asked for a KEY/account during installation. In this case, you must use the following credentials Account: see "1st step - registration" Passwort: the password you have assigned. See "Step 2 - change password"
It is now possible for you to reset your password yourself. To do this, please go to Order tracking in the StudiSoft portal. There you will see a button for the corresponding order, which you have to click on.
- Students obtain their identification automatically by using online enrollment inside the application portal. The user-ID and default password can be looked up via the application portal. To do this, simply log in, then click on "Application status" on the (start) "Application overview" page. Then the "Info page" appears and at the bottom are the access data. You must accept the user rules of the library and computer center beforehand. These login credentials are valid for all services (computer login, mail, Moodle, MyFiles, etc.).
- Professors and workers of the University obtain a sealed envelope with their credentials and telephone information.
- All other users (guest students, lecturers) obtain their credentials via the “Requests”-section of the Computer Centre.
- You were exmatriculated or your employment has ended. In that case you are no longer entitled to use the IT infrastructure of the University.
- Your account was locked due to frequent use of an incorrect password. If your password was wrongly entered multiple times your account is locked for 30 minutes. After that you can log into your account by entering the correct password. Incorrect logins are often a result of capslock or the keyboard language being set wrong.
- There may be uncertainties regarding documents or payment for the Students’ Office. Your account is deactivated, if payments weren’t performed or your documents were incomplete. Please refer to the Students’ Office. After successful clarification the Students’ Office will reenable your account.
- Your password may contain unsupported special characters. This may be causing you to be able to log in to certain services, but not others. Please change your password by using the “Change password” feature under “Services” and try again.
- Save all of your data stored on the H:/ drive on to a storage media of your own.
- Save any mails, you may still be needing and ensure any of the senders of mail that sent mail to your University mail address that this address is going to be decommissioned.
