Course of studies
The course of study comprises a total of seven semesters. After successful completion, you will start your professional life with the title Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). This qualifies you to work in business, the public sector or independently.
The standard duration of your studies in the Bachelor of Applied Business Psychology is seven semesters, including the practical phase and the Bachelor thesis. Your studies are modularly structured and equipped with a credit point system. The course contents of a module are coordinated thematically and chronologically with regard to the achievement of a partial qualification. If you successfully complete individual modules with an examination, you will be credited a certain number of credit points (ECTS points). A module usually comprises 5 credit points. For the successful completion of your Bachelor's degree, your points account at the end of your studies counts for a total of at least 210 credit points.
As a student, you are expected to work 30 hours per credit point. Your studies are divided into two study sections which document the progress of your studies:
- the first stage of study (1st to 3rd semester)
- the second stage of studies (4th and 5th semester)
- the third stage of studies (6th and 7th semester)
The practical phase and your bachelor thesis are in the third part of the course.
Content
Prior to your employment in the company, you will be trained to analyse processes and problems in business practice and to develop practical solutions. Your studies comprise six theory semesters and one practical semester, which is usually completed in the 6th semester. The programme is offered in German, but has a high proportion of courses in English.
Your degree course in Applied Organizational Psychology includes:
- Basic business administration modules (35 ECTS)
- Basic modules in business psychology (35 ECTS)
- Advanced modules (50 ECTS)
- Supplementary in-depth modules (25 ECTS)
- Key qualification modules (25 ECTS)
- Practical phase (25 ECTS)
- Bachelor thesis (12 ECTS) plus colloquium (3 ECTS)
Beginning in the 4th semester, you have the opportunity to specialize by choosing a major in organizational psychology, health psychology or cultural psychology. In the 6th semester you can expand the skills you have learned during your studies in a company during the practical phase of at least 18 weeks. You will gain insights into your future professional life and make valuable contacts for your career. We will support you with information and advise you in your search for an internship.
The course of study concludes in the 7th semester with the Bachelor thesis. After the successful completion of your studies you will be awarded the title Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).
If you are aiming for a higher academic degree, you have the possibility to take the continuing, consecutive Master's degree in Applied Organizational Psychology (M.A.) as well as the consecutive Master's degree in Logistics & Digitalization (M.Sc.), Digital Entrepreneurship (M.A.) or Digital Business (M.Sc.) within the WEIDEN BUSINESS SCHOOL.

Module Handbook and Curriculum
In the module handbook of the current semester you will find all information about the modules offered in the Bachelor's programme Applied Organizational Psychology and the course of your studies. Among other things, you can read there which lecturer teaches the course, which learning objectives it contains and in which order you should ideally study the modules.
