Hospital Engineering Trends 2025

The time has come again this year: In cooperation with the HT Group, the Technical University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden (OTH) is hosting the congress Hospital Engineering Trends – Architecture meets Technology for the ninth time on 24-25 June 2025.

Shaping the future of hospital planning together

Under the conference motto Innovative hospital planning - Looking back, moving forward, shaping the future, we want to recollect with you about important hospital and research projects and planners of recent decades.

At the same time, we want together to give the starting signal for an innovative, future orientated way of planning and building. Equipped with new tools and methods, participants will be able to actively shape the future of hospital planning in their own context.

Day One (24 June 2025): Focus on architecture

Renowned hospital planning offices present their most important hospital and research projects of the last decades. In addition to various operations reporting, there will be an opportunity to visit either the intensive care rooms of the Brothers of Mercy hospital (Barmherzige Brüder), the Building Lab at the Faculty of Civil Engineering (OTH Regensburg) or the Faculty of Architecture (OTH Regensburg) (incl. organised transport). The day will be rounded off with the evening event at the “Brauhaus am Schloss”.

Day Two (25 June 2025): Forward-looking topics

The second day will concentrate exclusively on future-orientated topics: Innovative planning methods, modern project allocation and fufillment and sustainable concepts will be examined. The challenges of outpatient surgery will also be a theme.

• Outpatient surgery: Solutions from the architecture, construction and medical technology sectors 

Also, there will be the possibility of a guided tour in the museum “Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte”.
