the EMI faculty is offering a Bachelor's elective in September 2024: Certified Tester and SecurityEssentials (CTSE)
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to credit the module with ECTS for you as Master's students.
However, I would like to inform you about its existence, which you can attend as a pure elective subject without ECTS credit
in your curriculum, purely out of intrinsic motivation for the subject.

The EMI faculty is offering a compulsory elective course as a block course in September 2024:
Certified Tester and Security Essentials (CTSE)
Offer possible from: MI-4/II-4/GI-4/KI-4/IK-5 (or higher semesters)
This is a two-week block course (5 ECTS / 4 SWS) in the last two weeks of September. It is already part of the compulsory elective catalogue. I organise the module in cooperation with sepp.med GmbH.
CTSE has two thematic blocks: Certified Tester according to the internationally standardised syllabus (Foundation Level) of ISTQB® and Security Essentials according to the syllabus of A4Q®.
Content outline CT: Basic training for tasks, methods and techniques of software testing.
Content outline SE: Conveys the terms, activities and processes commonly used in the security environment, provides insight into typical threats, vulnerabilities and security risks of IT systems as well as information on the state of the art in the field of cybersecurity and software security.

Dear students,
we would like to inform you about the current regulations for exam registration for this summer semester 2024.
The following should therefore be noted:
- In order to sit an exam you must register for it during the registration period.
- After this period, it is no longer possible to register or deregister via the online portal.
- You must also register for repeat examinations, as well as for coursework, assessments, projects, etc. (see study and examination regulations in the PRIMUSS portal > homepage below). (see study and examination regulations in the PRIMUSS portal > homepage at the bottom).
- Every exam graded with a "5" (failed) counts.
- Deadlines count. If a deadline for taking an examination is not met, the exam will be graded with a "5" (failed).
- Registration for an examination is binding. Failure to appear will therefore result in a "5" (failed).
- If you are unable to attend an examination, you must submit a medical certificate (please use the sick leave/inability to take exams form, which you will find on your online portal).
- If you repeatedly fail to attend an examination, you no longer need to submit a special medical certificate. A normal doctor´s certificate is sufficient (please use the same sick leave/inability to take exams form as mentioned above, which you will find on your online portal).
- If you do not register for an exam you will not receive a grade for it and must sit the exam again.
Please read these regulations carefully and adhere to them.

Learning Hall is available
Hello dear students,
After all safety-relevant components were retrofitted at the beginning of the week, the Learning Hall in Room 206, Building G (EMI Faculty) is now open to all students. On almost 80 square metres you can develop freely and pursue your work alone or in groups. There are mobile workstations with and without computers, group screens with whiteboard function, a SMART board, pinboards and a video conferencing system. Brief instructions on how the individual components work are available in the room.
To enter the room, simply hold your student card up to the door. The same applies to the battery cabinet. To remove or return the batteries, you can unlock the cabinet doors with your student card.

Egal, ob Anfänger oder Fortgeschrittener, wir sorgen dafür, dass du richtig coole Erfahrungen sammeln kannst.

Liebe Studierende,
Sie haben sich für die OTH Amberg-Weiden entschieden und damit für ein Studium in einer ländlichen Region. Wie gefällt es Ihnen, hier zu leben? Wo sehen Sie Verbesserungsbedarf? Unter welchen Bedingungen möchten Sie nach Abschluss Ihres Studiums in der Region bleiben? Und wo möchten Sie sich vielleicht selbst einbringen, um die Region (noch) zukunftsfester zu machen?
Diese Fragen untersucht die Technische Hochschule Nürnberg, Kompetenzzentrum KoSIMA mit einer Befragung von Studierenden in ländlichen Regionen. Wir unterstützen diese Befragung und laden Sie herzlich ein, daran teilzunehmen.

Die Ergebnisse werden im Herbst 2024 im Rahmen einer Veranstaltung vorgestellt und mit interessierten Studierenden diskutiert.

DTM - Registration for further examinations

Dear students,
As you may have heard, new SPO (Study and Examination Regulations) have been adopted for the DTM degree programme.
The most important changes are as follows:
1. removal of the 42 ECTS hurdle after the second semester
2. B2 German now only required for internships, but not for the regular modules of the third stage of the programme
3rd Marketing Basics instead of Digital Marketing and e-commerce in the 3rd/4th semester, DMaeC is now Specialisation Elective
The new SPO is actually only relevant for students starting their degree programme in winter. We would then also like to give you the opportunity to benefit from the new regulations. There will be a process for this after the examination phase.
Important: In order to be able to take additional examinations during the examination phase, which you are not allowed to take according to the current regulations and are therefore not activated for registration in Primuss, please proceed as follows:
E-mail to Ms Sommer ( d.sommer@oth-aw.de ) with the subject: Voluntary examination performance in the DTM degree programme with the request to send you the application form for voluntary examination performance. Please complete this form for each additional examination you wish to take and send it back to Ms Sommer during the registration period.
Important: this regulation only applies to the following cases:
1. you are in the first or second or 2W semester and would like to take examinations from the third or fourth semester according to the curriculum
2. you are in semester 4W, have successfully completed ALL 12 modules from the 1st study phase (regular semester 1+2) and would like to take examinations from the third study phase

Dear students,
You may have already heard that the semester ticket at OTH Amberg-Weiden will expire at the end of the 2024 summer semester and will not be continued.
As your student representatives, we campaigned last year for the introduction of an affordable and lucrative semester ticket at OTH Amberg-Weiden. We were fully aware that this was a controversial and polarising topic. Nevertheless, we believe that we have achieved the goals we set ourselves with the semester ticket.
Why is the ticket not being continued now?
In the long term, the ticket should be expanded to offer you more attractive routes. This year, we started negotiations with the transport companies to improve the service for you at a comparable price level. Unfortunately, we had to realise that some transport companies showed little interest in the negotiations.
The ticket should be continued in its current form. The price of the ticket was to be increased by almost 7% while the services remained the same. On the one hand, this was not satisfactory for us and on the other hand, we could not justify this to you with a clear conscience. After initial talks with no progress, we decided not to continue the negotiations and decided against continuing the ticket beyond the current summer semester.
If you have any questions about this, you can contact your representatives in the student council at any time.

Am Donnerstag, den 6. Juni, kannst du dich mit oder gegen deine Freunde messen und herausfinden, wer hier am Campus die Flunkyball-Meister sind! Wir richten für dich ein Turnier am Campus aus. Anmeldung startet ab 18:30 Uhr vor Ort und geht bis 19 Uhr. Bring dein eigenes Bier mit oder genieß unsere günstigen, gekühlten Waren. Wer nicht werfen will, darf gerne von der Picknickdecke anfeuern (oder alternativ auch blöd daher reden).
