    “AI Insights: Opportunities, trends, visions - in barcamp format”. Under this motto, Open Innovation @THE IMPULSE starts next week in Amberg.

    When? Tuesday, 08.04.2025, 2025 from 16:45 – 19:30

    Where? “The Impulse”, Heinrich-Hertz-Straße 1, 92224 Amberg

    Who? Open to all interested parties. Free registration via the IHK Regensburg.

    The event offers three keynote speeches on “AI as the key to knowledge management - a view from science to practice” (Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ulrich Schäfer, Head of Innovation and Competence Center Artificial Intelligence, OTH Amberg-Weiden), “AI in the region - how we are already using its potential today” (Michael Vogel, Innovation Officer, IHK Regensburg für Oberpfalz/Kelheim) and “Handling AI as a global player” (Magnus Rasmussen, Digital Industries Software Solutions, Siemens Denmark).

    The barcamp sessions will then start on topics such as “How can companies use AI today to digitalize their business and support processes?”, “What is an AI tool stack?” or “What can collaboration between start-ups, universities and large companies in the field of AI look like?”. Spontaneously shape the program at the barcamp yourself and get actively involved in sessions, workshops and discussions!

    Before concluding with a get-together and finger food, there will be a start-up marketplace where start-up teams from the region will present themselves.

    Then the 5-Euro-Business-Competition of OTH Amberg-Weiden, OTH Regensburg and the University of Regensburg is just right for you.

    When? Start with the kick-off on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 17:00 - 19:00

    Who? All students from all faculties

    You will receive intensive support throughout the competition through individual coaching, specialist workshops and exchanges with experts from the start-up ecosystem. In summary, you can expect the following opportunities:

    • Individual support in the development of your business idea
    • Implementation of a prototype under real conditions
    • Basic knowledge in the areas of marketing, social media, project management & employment law
    • Presentation of your project to a jury and an audience of experts, including valuable tips from real professionals from the business world

  • O/HUB: "Honours Degree" in Entrepreneurship

    Our partner in the Start-up HUB, the University of Passau, is offering the “Honors Degree in Entrepreneurship” in the summer semester.

    In this intensive, seven-month program consisting of block seminars, you will work in teams at the University of Passau to develop and validate your business models and prototypes. You will be supported and advised by an interdisciplinary team of experienced practitioners and lecturers. Upon successful completion of the program in November, you will receive a 10 ECTS certificate.

    At OTH Amberg-Weiden's start-up support department, we are constantly receiving inquiries from teams looking for new team members for their projects. We are glad to give these teams our reach, like today for the founding team Setiquette.

    Developer for innovative AI platform - Remote

    Become part of the founding team: We are looking for a talented Master's student in computer science or a related field who wants to combine his/her passion for technology with entrepreneurial thinking. As part of our team, you will support the technical implementation of our Minimal Viable Product (MVP) of our platform, an AI-based solution that connects talents and clients from the film industry and creator economy.

    Your tasks:

    • Creation of a detailed system design, implementation of the backend and frontend components.
    • Development and training of machine learning models for talent matching and recommendation.
    • Preparation and analysis of large amounts of data
    • Design of an intuitive and user-friendly interface.
    • Deploying the platform in a cloud environment

    Your profile:

    • Advanced degree in computer science, AI or a comparable course of study (ideally already completed Bachelor's degree)
    • Passion for innovative technologies and a dynamic working environment
    • Experience in machine learning, AI and data science
    • Good knowledge of Python and AWS
    • Strong communication skills and team spirit
    • Good knowledge of German and English
