Einladung virtueller Info-Abend „Berufsbild HAW-Professorin“

Liebe Masterstudentinnen,
wir laden euch herzlich zur virtuellen Informationsveranstaltung „Professorin an einer Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften (HAW) werden“ am 06.08.24 von 18.00 – 20.00 Uhr an der OTH Amberg-Weiden in BBB ein.
Der Informationsabend richtet sich an berufserfahrene Frauen unterschiedlicher Fachrichtungen, Postdoktorandinnen und Doktorandinnen sowie Studentinnen, die sich für anwendungsorientierte Lehre und Forschung interessieren und mehr über das Berufsbild erfahren möchten.
Eingeladen sind Alle, die sich genauer zum Berufsbild einer HAW-Professorin, den Einstellungsvoraussetzungen, dem Ablauf des Berufungsverfahrens und den Vorteilen dieses Berufs informieren möchten und Tipps & Hinweise erhalten möchten.
Durch den Abend begleiten vier Professorinnen: Prof. Dr. Christiane Hellbach, Prof. Dr. Gabriele M. Murry, Prof. Dr. rer. pol. habil. Mandy Hommel und unsere Nachwuchsprofessorin Prof. Dr. Julia Kreppmeier. Am Schluss gibt es die Möglichkeit an alle vier Professorinnen Fragen zu stellen und in den Austausch zu gehen. Neben den wichtigen Informationen rund um eine HAW-Professur wird das spezifische Profil der OTH Amberg-Weiden vorgestellt.
Wir bitten Euch, diese Möglichkeit auch an dir bekannte Frauen weiterzuleiten.

Shooting on 17.07.24 in the evening in the Amberg library
A media technology team will be filming in the Amberg library on Wednesday evening. The equipment will be set up at around 8 pm and filming will begin at dusk.
I have asked the team to keep as quiet as possible, as it is still exam time. Nevertheless, disturbances cannot be ruled out.
If you want to have it quiet, please move to one of the carrels or a group study room.
We ask for your understanding, but the library should not be missed when filming learning locations at OTH.
24h-library in Weiden: Please do not push the revolving door!
Unfortunately, the revolving door of the 24-hour library has often been used incorrectly recently, preventing students from entering the library.
We therefore expressly ask you to follow our rules:
Use your own student ID card to activate the revolving door!
Go through the revolving door alone and individually!
Take your time! The door takes a few seconds to move.Do not push the revolving door any further by force!!! It rotates completely automatically.
We can only continue to offer the 24-hour library if all students follow these rules.
If the revolving door is entered by several people at the same time or if people without access force their way in, the technology will break down.
If this happens again in the near future, we will have to close the 24-hour library permanently.Please follow the rules so that the 24h library can be used by everyone.
How do you recognize that you have access to the revolving door? The card reader lights up blue at the edge.
If you do not have access, the card reader lights up red.All students can gain access by attending a one-time training course at the library. The revolving door is also explained in this course.

This measures and compares the profile of German universities in start-up support (https://www.stifterverband.org/gruendungsradar). This time retrospectively for the year 2023.
One of the most important key figures are new businesses founded by students at OTH Amberg-Weiden, whether through start-ups or self-employment.

5 student teams developed innovative ideas this semester as "temporary entrepreneurs" in the 5-Euro-Business start-up competition.
Next week, we will find out which of these teams were the most convincing.
We therefore would like to invite you to this year's final event of the 5-Euro-Business start-up competition for Regensburg/ Amberg-Weiden : on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 18 to 20 at TechBase Regensburg.
The student teams will present the progress of their business ideas during the event. In addition to their own exhibition stands, there will be exciting presentations. At the end, the jury will award prizes to the best teams and give out the sustainability prize and the prize for the best media work. Afterwards, we will end the evening together with a buffet.

Dear Students,
Please note that from 01.10.2024 a new verification via Shibboleth is necessary to purchase a discounted Deutschlandticket in the Netinera app.
The Student Union of the OTH Amberg-Weiden has decided not to extend the semester ticket any further. Therefore, the price for a discounted Deutschlandticket will be 29.00 euros per month from the winter semester 2024/2025. Please note that no refunds will be made if you have forgotten the Shibboleth verification!

We would like to inform you that some functions in the Moodle App (provider: Moodle Pty Ltd) are not supported. This concerns, among other things, plug-ins for exams, evaluation etc. We therefore ask you to stop using the Moodle app in the future and to access Moodle via the OTH app. You can access your OTH Moodle account and many other helpful functions directly via the menu in the app. Please note this in future and install the OTH app on your smartphone or tablet. Alternatively, you can access the services of OTH Amberg-Weiden at any time via our website. PCs are also available in the IT rooms if you do not have your own laptop.

Liebe Studierende,
zum Wintersemester 2024/2025 startet wieder der Fachkundekurs im Strahlenschutz.
Der Kurs ist vom Bayerischen Landesamt für Umweltschutz als Kurs zum Erwerb der Fachkunde im Strahlenschutz nach den Modulen GH und OG für die Fachkundegruppen S1.1, S1.2, S2.1, S2.2, S1.3, S4.1, S5 und S6.1 der Fachkunderichtlinie Technik nach StrlSchV und nach dem Modul RG für die Fachkundegruppen R3, R4 und R10 der Fachkunderichtlinie Technik nach RöV anerkannt.
Nutzen Sie die Möglichkeit des Angebotes durch die Hochschule, dass Sie sich einen Vorteil für Ihre Bewerbung nach dem Studium gegenüber anderen Bewerbern sichern.
Dazu ein kleines Beispiel:
Der in der Regel einwöchige Kurs kostet Ihren Arbeitgeber später rund 800-1000€. Dazu kommen die Kosten für 5 Übernachtungen, den Fahrtkosten sowie den Ausfall Ihrer Arbeitszeit für eine Woche.
Die OTH bietet Ihnen den Kurs ohne zusätzliche Kosten an. Der Kurs kann ab einer Mindestteilnehmerzahl von 15 Personen durchgeführt werden und ist begrenzt auf 20 Teilnehmer, daher bitte frühzeitig anmelden. Der Kurs ist für Studierende des Bachelor Medizintechnik MZ 4-7 und Master Medizintechnik ME 1-2 vorgesehen. Vorteilhaft sind Kenntnisse aus der Radiologie und Nuklearmedizin, aber nicht zwingend notwendig.Erster Termin: Do., 10.10.2024, 16 Uhr im CAE-Labor im WTC (Raum 0.14)
Der Kurs findet immer Donnerstag Nachmittag statt + 3 Termine Freitags (Zeit nach Absprache) für Blockpraktika.

the EMI faculty is offering a Bachelor's elective in September 2024: Certified Tester and SecurityEssentials (CTSE)
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to credit the module with ECTS for you as Master's students.
However, I would like to inform you about its existence, which you can attend as a pure elective subject without ECTS credit
in your curriculum, purely out of intrinsic motivation for the subject.

The EMI faculty is offering a compulsory elective course as a block course in September 2024:
Certified Tester and Security Essentials (CTSE)
Offer possible from: MI-4/II-4/GI-4/KI-4/IK-5 (or higher semesters)
This is a two-week block course (5 ECTS / 4 SWS) in the last two weeks of September. It is already part of the compulsory elective catalogue. I organise the module in cooperation with sepp.med GmbH.
CTSE has two thematic blocks: Certified Tester according to the internationally standardised syllabus (Foundation Level) of ISTQB® and Security Essentials according to the syllabus of A4Q®.
Content outline CT: Basic training for tasks, methods and techniques of software testing.
Content outline SE: Conveys the terms, activities and processes commonly used in the security environment, provides insight into typical threats, vulnerabilities and security risks of IT systems as well as information on the state of the art in the field of cybersecurity and software security.

CSD is celebrated worldwide every year and serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for LGBTQIA+ rights and a celebration of the progress made towards equality.
- When: Saturday, 15th June 2024
- Where: Meeting place Marktplatz Schwandorf at 1.45pm
- Merchandise: There will be merchandise in the form of flags, stickers, bracelets and tattoos for all participants.

Dear students,
we would like to inform you about the current regulations for exam registration for this summer semester 2024.
The following should therefore be noted:
- In order to sit an exam you must register for it during the registration period.
- After this period, it is no longer possible to register or deregister via the online portal.
- You must also register for repeat examinations, as well as for coursework, assessments, projects, etc. (see study and examination regulations in the PRIMUSS portal > homepage below). (see study and examination regulations in the PRIMUSS portal > homepage at the bottom).
- Every exam graded with a "5" (failed) counts.
- Deadlines count. If a deadline for taking an examination is not met, the exam will be graded with a "5" (failed).
- Registration for an examination is binding. Failure to appear will therefore result in a "5" (failed).
- If you are unable to attend an examination, you must submit a medical certificate (please use the sick leave/inability to take exams form, which you will find on your online portal).
- If you repeatedly fail to attend an examination, you no longer need to submit a special medical certificate. A normal doctor´s certificate is sufficient (please use the same sick leave/inability to take exams form as mentioned above, which you will find on your online portal).
- If you do not register for an exam you will not receive a grade for it and must sit the exam again.
Please read these regulations carefully and adhere to them.

Learning Hall is available
Hello dear students,
After all safety-relevant components were retrofitted at the beginning of the week, the Learning Hall in Room 206, Building G (EMI Faculty) is now open to all students. On almost 80 square metres you can develop freely and pursue your work alone or in groups. There are mobile workstations with and without computers, group screens with whiteboard function, a SMART board, pinboards and a video conferencing system. Brief instructions on how the individual components work are available in the room.
To enter the room, simply hold your student card up to the door. The same applies to the battery cabinet. To remove or return the batteries, you can unlock the cabinet doors with your student card.
