Welcome to the website of the Service Centre for Digital Exercises!

We use innovative assessment systems such as STACK and CodeRunner to develop digital assignments for lecturers and provide support and guidance on their implementation in teaching.

In collaboration with the Centre for Digital Teaching Excellence, we also offer advice on the pedagogically sound integration of digital assignments into courses, assist with the implementation of digital assessment formats, and support the adaptation of examination concepts, such as the transition from summative to formative assessments.

Digital exercises offer valuable features:

  • Randomisation ⇒ Unlimited practice with structurally identical tasks
  • Adaptivity ⇒ Tasks adjust to learners' interim results, enabling individualised learning pathways
  • Automatic correction ⇒ No personnel required
  • Automated feedback
    • Individualised ⇒ Misconceptions can be identified and addressed
    • Computer-generated ⇒ No perceived exposure in front of the instructor
    • Multimodal ⇒ Text feedback, video feedback, animated feedback, and more
  • Representation networking ⇒ Linking symbolic and visual representations
  • Interactivity ⇒ Inquiry-based and self-regulated learning
  • 100% digital ⇒ Time- and location-independent learning and practice, just-in-time teaching through learning analytics, gamification to enhance motivation and engagement
  • Based on Moodle and ILIAS ⇒ Can be integrated into any lecture
